What are the base overhang restrictions on the Britax Poplar & Poplar S convertible car seats?

Ensuring that the Britax Poplar and Poplar S car seats are correctly installed is crucial for your child's safety. The black positioning runners on the bottom of the car seat's base must rest entirely flat on your vehicle's seat, however the space beyond the runners’ outside edges is permitted to overhang the vehicle seat edge. You are also permitted to have up to 3 inches (7.5 cm) of the base extending beyond the front edge of your vehicle's seat in either rear-facing or forward-facing modes, as illustrated in the user guide (see illustration on page 12). If the shape of your vehicle's seat prevents the base from making adequate contact, adjusting the car seat to a more upright recline angle may be necessary to help ensure proper installation.

Remember: It is essential that the black base positioning runners on the bottom of the car seat's base not only sit flat on the vehicle's seat but also remain parallel to it. This configuration is crucial to help ensure the car seat performs as intended in the event of a collision.

Which Britax strollers are compatible with the Britax Willow Infant Car Seat?

If you attach the Britax Adapter Accessory for MAXI-COSI, CYBEX, and NUNA, the Britax Willow Infant Car Seat will be compatible with the Britax B-Free and B-Lively. The Willow is automatically compatible with the Brook stroller without the need for adapters Future Britax strollers will also be designed to fit with the Britax Willow Infant Car Seat. For stroller compatibility, refer to the compatibility chart.

Which competitive brand strollers are compatible with the Britax Willow Infant Car Seat?

Which Britax Infant Car Seats are compatible with the Britax Brook Stroller?
Not all Britax infant car seats are compatible with the Brook Stroller. For Britax Infant Car Seat compatibility, refer to the compatibility chart. As of the Britax Brook Stroller launch, the Britax Willow Infant Car Seat is the only compatible Britax Infant Car Seat for this stroller. Future Britax Infant Car Seats will also be designed to fit with the Britax Brook Stroller.

Which competitive brand infant car seats are compatible with the Britax Brook Stroller?
Not all competitive brand infant car seats are compatible with the Brook Stroller. For competitive brand infant car seat compatibility, refer to the compatibility chart.

What infant car seats are compatible with Britax strollers?

All Britax strollers are compatible with Britax Infant Car Seats. Additionally, they are compatible with select Maxi Cosi, Cybex and Nuna infant car seats with the purchase of the Britax Infant Car Seat Adapters (Maxi Cosi, Cybex, Nuna).

Can we use a US seat in Canada?

The use of U.S. product by Canadian residents can result in penalties and fines, as determined by provincial law. Are the US strollers able to be used in Canada?

Most US strollers can be used in Canada. However, please call our Customer Service team for any specific inquires.

Are the expiration dates the same for US and Canadian seats?

The expiration date is the same for US and Canadian seats. The expiration date varies by product and from the date of manufacture. For information relating to your particular car seat, please refer to your user guide.

Are winter tires available for strollers?

No, we do not offer special snow tires for our strollers. 

What does Britax recommend in place of the discontinued Vehicle Seat Protector?

Britax does not approve of the use of non-Britax accessories with our car seats. Doing so could cause the Britax car seat not to perform as intended in a crash. We do not currently approve of any other accessories or seat coverings to use in place of the Britax vehicle seat protector.

Seat Belts

Can I use an inflatable seat belt to install my BRITAX car sear?

Not all models of BRITAX car seats are approved for use with inflatable seat belts. 

The Ford Motor Company (Ford and Lincoln vehicles) Inflatable seat belt system is approved for use, in vehicles certified for the United States and Canada, with the following BRITAX models: 

1. B-SAFE (please note: this is the retired model with 30 lb. capacity);

2. Britax G Series Convertibles (Roundabout, Marathon, Boulevard, Advocate;  – not the CLICKTIGHT models);

3. Pioneer 70, Pioneer; 

4. Frontier, Frontier 85, Frontier 90, Frontier CLICKTIGHT;

5. Pinnacle 90, Pinnacle CLICKTIGHT; and 

6. Parkway SG and Parkway SGL.

Any model not expressly listed above are not approved for use with the Ford Inflatable seat belt system or any other inflatable seat belt system.

Installation Questions

Is it safer to use lower anchors or the vehicle seat belt and car seat tether (if anchor is available) to install a car seat?

Installed correctly, both methods of installation are equally safe. Always refer to the vehicle owner’s manual guide and car sear user guide to determine the best installation method.

Can I install Britax seats using both lower anchors and the vehicle seat belt?

No. Britax car seats should be installed using only one installation method – either the vehicle’s seat belt and car seat tether (if anchor is available) or lower anchors. Parents should always refer to the car seat user guide with any questions.

What is a tether strap and why is it important to use?

The tether strap is typically located on the upper part of the back of the car seat. Parents should read the car seat user guide to understand how the tether works.

Safewash

How do I clean my SafeWash cover?

To clean your SafeWash cover, first make sure all of the hook and loop fasteners are secured. Then, machine wash the cover on a delicate cycle with cold water and a mild detergent. Tumble dry, and remove right away. Do not iron, bleach, or dry clean your cover.

What are the important care instructions for covers that are machine washable, such as SafeWash?

To ensure optimal quality and prevent fading, replace cover after 30 washes.

What do you mean when you say that SafeWash is “Safety that will hold up in the wash”?

It means that it is safe to machine wash and dry the SafeWash fabric up to 30 washes.
